A plain-English overview of how makn handles your data as your processor.
This summary explains, in plain language, how makn handles customer data when you become a customer. It is a plain-English overview, the binding terms will be set out in a signed Data Processing Agreement (DPA) that forms part of your customer contract.
As our customer, you are the data controller of the business and personal data you put into your makn ERP. makn acts as the data processor, processing that data on your instructions to provide the service.
We process the data your ERP contains, for example customers, suppliers, invoices, inventory, and the personal data of your staff, only to provide, maintain, and support your makn system, and only on your documented instructions.
makn's defining safeguard: our AI proposes changes, but nothing is applied to your live system until you approve it. You remain in control of what is built and changed.
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls, encryption in transit, and backups. Our security posture strengthens over time (with formal certifications such as ISO 27001 on our roadmap).
We use a limited set of sub-processors (for example, hosting and infrastructure providers) under appropriate contractual terms. A current list is available on request.
For MENA clients, we aim to host operational data in the UAE.
We assist you in meeting your obligations under applicable data-protection law (including UAE PDPL), for example, helping you respond to data-subject requests and, where required, breach notifications.
On termination, we return or delete your data in line with the signed DPA and applicable law.
